Welcome to the Snow Patrol Volunteer sign up – an initiative designed to make winter a little easier and build skills and job experience for our community teenagers! Our program pairs residents in need of snow shoveling with local teens looking to gain valuable job experience and log volunteer hours. Sign up as a volunteer and HCA will contact you to pair you with a residence.

How It Works:

• Residents: Sign up to have your walkways and driveways shoveled throughout the winter season. For just a small fee, you'll enjoy the peace of mind that your home stays safe and accessible during those snowy months.
• Teens: Looking to build your resume and earn volunteer hours? Sign up as a Patroller! By joining the program, you'll gain real job experience, help your neighbors, and receive a Letter of Reference and a Job Description for your resume at the end of the season – a great way to impress future employers or colleges!

The Details:

• Shoveling Assignments: After signing up, residences will be paired with Patrollers who will be responsible for clearing snow after each significant snowfall (typically 2 inches or more).
• Volunteer Commitment: Patrollers are expected to commit to at least one residence throughout the season, ensuring consistency and reliability for the residents.
• End of Season Perks for Teens: At the end of a fully completed season, Patrollers will receive a Letter of Reference and an official Job Description outlining their responsibilities and skills learned. Perfect for resumes and future job applications!

Logistics:

• Weather Notifications: Both residents and Patrollers will receive notifications when shoveling is required. All communication will be through HCA, no direct contact between residents and Patrollers is required.
• Safety First: Teens will be provided with safety training and guidelines for snow removal to ensure they stay safe while shoveling. Equipment will be available if needed.
